Kampala Deaf Youth Club believes every deaf youth should have access to quality healthy service and be informed every day. The aim is to meet the needs of patients at no cost—-because healthy people build healthy communities…!
Vision :
A community without barriers for deaf youth.
Mandate :
To empower Deaf youth in Kampala district and its vicinity to discover their potential through capacity building, social and network activities, health awareness and access to information.
Objectives:
1. To provide a safe place where young Deaf person in Kampala and its hinterland can meet on a regular basis to learn about social, Economic and political through an informal setting.
2. To boost work of Kampala Deaf youth peer educators in the quest to create and informed and healthy Deaf youth community that is able to leave free of HIV/AIDs, unwanted pregnancy, other STDs and more so, exclusion and marginalisation in access to reproductive health services.
3. Creating awareness about the issues affecting Deaf youth in Kampala and across county and develop mitigating strategies with key stakeholders to resolve those issue.
4. To Empower the Deaf youth with advocacy skills so as to influence their full participation in the community activities.
5. To creating a motivational and inspirational model of self-governance and empowerment among the Deaf youth Kampala and out.
6. To provide a platform for Deaf young people to express their views and feeling to listening audience through music dance and drama shows, community awareness walks, participation in public events among others.
7.To provide an opportunity for members of the community to voluntarily work with Deaf young people.
8. To lobby the local government, development partners and other key stakeholders to support Deaf youth.
9. Facilitate the design and implementation of Projects to sensitize the Youth with and without disabilities about issues on HIV/AIDS and reproductive health.
