Uplift India Association is a network of organisations working at grass root level in the urban slums of Pune and Mumbai in the area of microfinance. There are currently 100,000 members and each organisation is facilitated by a strong technical support scheme. The Uplift model allows communites to create and manage their own social security systems, promoting effective risk management, community ownership and democratic representation.
