Christian orphanage in Pakistan in need of funding

Requested by

Home of Hope

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

Orphans in South Asia and Pakistan, they as part of the society, suffer because of lack or inefficient governmental programs to address their needs and welfare. Often, orphans in these regions are supported by local communities at a bare minimum survival stage. A good number of them may be very intelligent but, because of lack of financial support, they cannot develop or utilize their skills through education, rendering them unable to avail the opportunities around them. Concerning Christian orphans the situation becomes even worse as the orphanages in Pakistan are mainly managed and administered by Muslims or other religion groups of the society. When a Christian orphan needs to be sent to an orphanage, the management of the orphanage starts to make excuses – claiming they are already over burdened and there is no room for new children – leaving the child to face difficulty, risking the child’s future and life by the refusal, originating from religious discrimination.

What is your project and how will it help?

House of Hope (HOH) established its orphanage at Abbottabad under the Title of “Home of Homeless Children.” Presently 50 children are admitted and more are waiting.

In our current Locations we are providing following services:
1: Shelter in a rented house.
2: Schooling.
3: Religious education.
4: Utilities.
5: Children’s entertainment.
6: Food.
7: Child allowances.
8: Medical care.
9: Clothes.
10: Personal items. (ie. toothbrushes, toothpaste etc).

HOH has no permanent donor support and we are generating funds from local and individual support. Due to inflation we are facing hardship to manage this orphanage with such limited resources.

How can other people partner with you on your project?

People can partner with us by:

1: Organize your group, business, church or family to sponsor a project.
2: Plan a trip to Pakistan.
3: Provide funding to a specified activity.
4: Financial & volunteer support for HOH
5: Sponsor a child.
6: Send a gift of love.

Or they can partner with us by taking full monetary support for running the schools and the orphanage building project.

Please detail the resources that you need.

1: Monthly rent of HOH building.
2: Food for 50 children.
3: 50 wooden beds for children.
4: 15 wooden cupboards for children.
5: School furniture.
6: School stationary.
7: Uniform and shoes for 50 children.
8: Computer literacy centre at HOH.
9: Play grounds items for 50 children.
10: 100 dresses for 50 children.

NB: the school staff, except the cook, sweeper, maid, and washing lady is all run by volunteer staff. “We appreciate those who are willing to sacrifice each month to keep the “hope burning” for these lovely children!”
