Annai Theresa Social Welfare Action Trust (ATSWA) is an Indian NGO that works for economic empowerment and social justice in North Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. ATSWA works with the rural poor, orphans, children and women, people with disabilities, senior citizens, commercial sex workers, and people living with HIV/AIDS. ATSWA runs a residential child care programme for children at risk, and is involved in the education and rehabilitation of physically challenged children. The organisation also runs day care centres for physically challenged children and provides residential child care for HIV infected children. Programmes for women include the formation of women’s groups, leadership training, micro-enrepreneur development, human rights awareness and environmental protection.
