Bethany Relief and Rehabilitation International is a Canadian faith-based medical NGO working in East Africa for children with disabilities.
Much of the organisation’s focus is on providing surgery to children with a variety of medical conditions including spina bifida, hydrocephalus, burns, cleft lips, and cleft palates. Doctors use the facilities of the AIC (Africa Inland Church) Kijabe Hospital near Nairobi.
The organisation has operated on over 2,000 children in each of the last several years. In addition, the organisation trains African doctors as pediatric surgeons, and provides physiotherapy and occupational therapy to 300 students of the Joytown Primary School for Children with Disabilities in Thika, Kenya.
