Samsuji Global Rescue (SAGRE) Foundation

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

From 1st June 2014, we will embark on a twelve months free eye screening for widows and poor people living in Obinze, a rural community near Owerri, the city capital of Imo State Nigeria. A population of over 10,000 families living in poor conditions and exposed to preventable causes of blindness like cataract, Glaucoma,Refractive errors and other problems associated with living conditions and lifestyle.

What is your project and how will it help?

The free eye screening and treatment will address the issue of blindness due to preventable causes, which is ravaging a significant number of the rural population. The economic implication of blindness is enormous as most people will now depend on others for their livelihood and sustainability, yet this is a very poor population of people living far below average.
