Request for partnership for Teenage Mother project in rural areas in Cameroon

Requested by

Farming and Animal Husbandry

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

We are trying to help rural people in as many communities possible in Cameroon by bringing innovative projects that will not only create employment for them, but also improve on their life style.
We carry out projects on hiv/aids sensitization, local water resource management, farming and animal husbandry projects, climate change advocacy, human rights advocacy and general public interest projects, designed to mobilize the youths to be more active participants in the development.
Since we are affiliated with the commonwealth youth program of Cameroon we try to involve the youths in every program we have, especially the girl child. We are having a program on teenage mothers in four rural communities in the south west region where we are looking for partners who have been doing similar projects so we can better help these young girls. Other projects include anti female genital mutilation campaigns. Fight out malaria for school children, the anglophones and their place in cemac and many more.

What is your project and how will it help?

Our project is on teenage mothers in rural areas, we are trying to alleviate poverty and increase the well being of these mothers and children by bringing ideas that will give them something doing. In the four divisions selected (Meme, Ndian, Kupe Maneguba, and Fako) there are plans to set up a cassava transformation plant in Ndian, a piggery in Meme, a poultry in Fako and a pepper farm in Kupe Maneguba. The products will be marketed and distributed so that these women can send their children to school, pay for their health care bills and also save some money. Also, we plan on sensitizing young girls on the ills of early pregnancy and other safety tips that youths should know before as they grow up. Also, we are trying to use this platform to talk hiv/aids and also malaria which is an is ravaging this local communities. We are planning to help send some of these mothers to school so as to increase their potentials, for those who will like to continue with education for in training a mother, the whole family will be educated. Also, some kids will have to receive educational materials so as to aid them with their school life.
All these things form the core of what we call the Teenage Mother project, which is being carried out in four sub divisions of the south west region.
All these projects take place at once.

How can other people partner with you on your project?

We are a young ngo, our existence dates back to 1999, its the first time we are carrying out such a project and we will love to meet people who have been working on such a project or those who have innovative ideas to help create an impact in the lives of these girls and children please do contact us. We are looking to make this project a sustainable one with the funds we have but you could do more, we are open to any critics and remarks from you. You can be a partner by being a volunteer in the project, providing material or financial support.

Please detail the resources that you need.

We are looking for volunteers, financial or material support and technical advice.

We will be needing any type of support you can offer, what is more important is not the finance or the material support you provide, just a sign of concern for these children will do great good no matter how small. Cassava transformation is still in its early stage in Cameroon so it is costly and the knowledge is limited on how to transform it, we also need to open up a poultry, a pepper farm and a piggery for these women all those need funds but what is most difficult is finding the market. We also plan on sending some of these mothers to school and to provide school materials for their kids.
If you are a marketeer or a project manager please join our team so together we can build a better world. We pray our request melts your hearts
Thank you in advance.
