Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

Horizon Social Assistance Development Organization is a non profit organization based in Hargeisa Somalia. This local NGO is a voluntary organization and supports social activities in Somalia. It is particularly focused on youths’ basic development, education and job creation.

There is a gap in the education among the youth due to the civil wars. Our organisation wishes to help these young people by creating a vocational centre.

What is your project and how will it help?

This centre would not only teach vocational skills, it would also work as a rehabilitation centre for the youth who were affected by the wars. The aim is to help the young people to sustain themselves and give them a bright future.

Skills that will be taught:
1 Woodwork and Carpentry
2 Building Construction
3 Textile (garment making and fashion design)
4 Metalwork and Auto- Repair
5 Electric Installation
6 Plumbing
7 Computer Skills
8 Office Managements
9 Adult Literacy
