Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

Our non-profit organization SNAP helps children with different mild and moderate forms of disabilities:

- Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
- All types of Learning Disabilities (LD) such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia, Auditory Processing Disorder, Visual Processing Disorder
- Physical disabilities
- Slow learners
- Hearing impaired
- Visually impaired
- Mild mental retardation
- Communication disorder
- Emotional or behavioral disorders (anxiety problems – including Phobias and Fears and school refusal)
- Mood problems
- Eating disorders which lead to growth problems
- Autism
- Down Syndrome
- Turner’s Syndrome
- Fragile X
- etc.…

What is your project and how will it help?

The mission of SNAP is to fill emptiness in the lives of children with special needs by providing College Transition Curriculum, Autism/Asperger Curriculum, after-school and weekend recreational programs which are designed and organized to address their needs.

SNAP provides specialized instructional techniques for mild and moderate disability cases. These techniques are not available in other special needs programs.
Our mission is to facilitate and promote the growth and development of young special needs children physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually in a happy, safe and nurturing environment.
Our services are based on the conviction that people with disabilities should have control over their day-to-day lives, just as people without disabilities do.


1- Allow the child to discover/develop his potentials and explore all his talents/skills in line with the development of his multiple intelligence.

2- Prepare special needs students for success at school and for life-long learning.

3- Provide children with special needs and their parents with a nurturing environment and with the finest activities available.

4- Provide pre-vocational exposure to special needs children less than 15 years old.

5- Provide vocational training for children with mild and moderate disabilities more than 15 years old.

6- Provide a physical education programs, and promotes physical development and the acquisition and development of individual and team skills.

7- Provide opportunities for cooperative games.

8- Provide a health education and safety measures programs that are relevant, consistent, sequential and age appropriate.

9- Provide opportunities for students to pursue interests through a variety of after-school activities.

10- Provide a clearly articulated and demonstrated program of social/emotional development and support throughout the school.

11- Provide each student with the technology skills that are age-appropriate to the educational and social requirements of contemporary society.

12- Provide sufficient and adequate information through lectures and workshops related to different topics, prevention and awareness programs to the whole family, parents, siblings, and the child him/herself (when applicable)

Needs To Satisfy:
The Center will satisfy the need of belonging to society, independency, productivity, empowerment, social participation in integrated community settings.
