Funding for Patriot 2 Patriot Program for Students in the US
Requested by
Oxfam America Chapter at George Mason UniversityWho are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?
At George Mason University there are several homeless students that are living in different parts of campus. I have created a program that would help these students with food insecurities have equal access to meals as everyone else in the Mason community has.
The official proposal of this program is attached to this form.
What is your project and how will it help?
This program will be a permanent part of the George Mason University community.
A fund will be set up and will eventually automatically take the monetary value of leftover meal plans and accumulate them in one bank account. The university supports the design of the program but requires a trial period before implementing it. Once set up, the current students in need will immediately have access to this fund and will use it under supervision to purchase meals.
How can other people partner with you on your project?
My Project is restricted within my institution, but outsiders can make donations that would help kick start this program.
The link to make a donation is here

Please detail the resources that you need.
I need to print out flyers for about $20 – $30 to educate students on campus about the program and to encourage all meal plan holders to be a part of Patriot 2 Patriot.
Also, a bank account for this fund needs to be set up before the Fall semester 2013 begins in order to experiment with the flow of the technical aspect of the program. The administration is requiring me to raise money to kick start Patriot 2 Patriot – these donations would cover two days worth of meals not exceeding $20 per day, for no more than 12 students. This equals out to be $480.00
