Foundation for Peace and Development (FPD) is a Kenya non-religious, nonpolitical and nongovernmental organization whose mission is to promote peace, development and care for the environment in local communities. The NGO’s activities are focused on: peace building, community development initiatives, civic education, and climate change, and youth agenda (sports, empowerment, training and employment. FPD operates in the larger rift valley region which is the most populous region in Kenya with a population of 12,752,966 according to 2019 census. It is a cosmopolitan region which has been a hotbed tribal animosity since the onset of multiparty democracy in the country. More than 50% of the population are rural peasants who live on less than one dollar a day.

The Foundation thought it wise to work together with musicians and it is a membership network bringing together media personalities and celebrity artistes and an umbrella that is used as a forum to advocate peace and Environmental conservation while addressing conflict that could emanate take advantage of their talent that also acts as crowd puller in the mobilization efforts.
