Center for Law and Peace-Uganda (Clap-Uganda) was formed in 2005 and formerly known as Peace Action and Community Emancipation (PEACE) and as Peace and human rights advocacy and Community Based Organisation (CBO) based in Lira. Later it was registered in November 2005 with Uganda NGO Board as an indigenous voluntary non-racial ,nonpolitical and sectarian region wide local NGO in then the greater Lira

CLAP-UGANDA has carried out a number of project intervention aimed at protecting, upholding and promoting Human Rights, widening the scope of Democratic space as well as social justice among which the most recent are 2) A UGX 29,955,000/= women empowerment project in Oyam District just included 2) a UGX 32,050,000/= Disaster risk reduction project for vulnerable communities in Otuke which was care Uganda Hybrid with Otuke District Local Government. CLAP is currently engaged in Human Rights awareness program through the broadcast media.
