Tearfund is an international relief and development organisation, working in more than 100 countries. Tearfund funds partner organisations working to meet the needs of ‘at risk’ groups in developing countries who are disadvantaged by poverty, who are socially isolated or victims of famine or disaster. Made total grants worth ₤17m in 2002 and provided individual grants up to ₤900,000. The typical size of grants is ₤15,000, with the smallest grants at ₤1,000. Applicants must apply to become partners. NB. As of June 2004 this fund is not presently taking applications
