Social Organization for Voluntary Action (SOVA)

SOVA was established in 1992. Over the span it has covered sectors of livelihoods (artisans/ farmers), health, youth and adolescent issues, women and child welfare, disaster management and mitigation and environment issues. It delivers institutional services in primary health care, protection of women and protection of children. In recent past it has implemented a program to enhance nutritional status of the school children in the entire district (800+ schools). It has already partnered with the state as well as central government departments/ ministries, local governance systems, UN agencies and many other international donors. Moreover, it has an experience spanning over 5 years of working with university students from abroad. It is housed in its own premises.

SOVA’s strength lies in understanding the need of the community, it serves, devise plans to address them and implement the plan meticulously. The major strength lies in its rapport with the community and the grassroots administration. It is a mandate to document all the process it undertakes.
