Musical instruments and equipment for community projects in Middle East
Requested by
Harmony of HopeWho are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?
Our work in war-torn communities aims to use music to heal, unite and alleviate suffering whilst at the same time providing the groundwork for sustainable development and cross-cultural community work. Following the recent disputes in the Middle East, we are looking to support young professional musicians in the region who are seeking to pursue a high quality education in Western Music. We seek to train and improve the standard of education now and for future generations.
What is your project and how will it help?
We are requesting high quality music supplies (reeds, strings, valve oil etc) and instruments for Youth Orchestras in the Middle East working to bring together different community and tribal groups. These instruments will enable us to create an impact in volatile and disenfranchised communities where hope is not always visible. “With an orchestra you are building citizens, better citizens for the community”(Dudamel) The sound of music CAN be heard above the sound of pain and we aim to offer this hope to those who have suffered in this region.
