The Olancho Aid Foundation has created an economically sustainable community in Olancho, Honduras that provides families an opportunity to stay well, stay together and an option to stay at home. The Foundation accomplishes it’s work through a partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Juticalpa. It focuses on issues such as climate instability, education and access to clean water.

For over twenty years, OAF has provided educational opportunities to students in the community through its bilingual K-12 schools and its highly competitive college prep high school. Escuelita Nazareth has been recognized by the Honduran government for its unique role in providing services to the population of children and young adults with special needs. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, enrollment at the four schools totaled 787 with a staff of 125 Hondurans. Beyond education, the foundation’s dedication to improve the health of the community is illustrated by twenty-seven clean water projects that supply their schools and rural communities with potable water.

Olancho Aid has been welcoming mission teams since the early 1990s and volunteers in the schools since 2005.
