Hope for Orphans and Widows Community Association (HOWCA) is a Ugandan NGO established in the wake of the war in the north that left many widows and orphans without basic resources. The organisation trains widows in micro-business skills, helps them with small business loans to start or boost income-generating enterprises, and helps and educates orphans and abandoned children. HOWCA also works on HIV/AIDS related issues.

Achievements
1. Micro finance project.

HOWCA is currently training 0ver 200 poor Widows in Business Skills, and management, e.g. Bookkeeping, Budgeting, savings and negotiation Techniques among others.

2. Educational support Project.

HOWCA provides educational materials like pens books, pencils to needy Children (Orphans) as means and ways of promoting their Education.

3. Beads project

HOWCA has introduced beads project where Women are trained in making beautiful Necklaces, Earrings and bracelets. This is aiming towards providing income generating activities to support their families.

4. Food and Nutrition Project
Over 100 Malnourished children ages ranging from 5 years and below have benefited from this project, as they received food supplement called Atmit, they become healthier and nice looking children.
