Community Health Center Busabala (CHCB)

CHCB has been serving the fishing communities of Lake Victoria, Islands, and the surrounding villages and landing sites for over 12 years. Locally and privately not for profit, owned and operated. All patients are received without any segregation of any kind. The main clientele is from hard to reach communities, the majority being women, children, and elderly people of both genders. The Health center provides surgery, medical, pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics, and dental services. CHCB runs a diagnostic center with a basic Laboratory and a 3D Ultrasound.

CHCB also immunizes children as per the World Health Organization and Government of Uganda’s program. The organization is registered with the Ministry of Health Uganda as a private not for profit organization. All Medical team members are registered with Uganda Medical and Dental practitioners’ Council and the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council. CHCB has a team of IT specialists who have been key in the design of several Health computer programs which are useful in care and in the public health services, especially of hard to reach communities. The IT team also patterners with local and international groups. The health center also does Medical Research independently or in collaboration with other authorized Research agencies and through the guidance and regulation of the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (UNCST).
