ACODEP empowers citizens to participate and monitor government programs to ensure effective service delivery by demanding for accountability from the Local Governments technocrats and politicians. Citizens were well informed about their obligations to observe, respect and abide by the laws of the country, while empowering them to demand for their rights and guard against any form of human rights abuse and violation.
Environmental and natural resources management component is considered the foundation of efforts to empower people and alleviate poverty. This is done bearing in mind that degradation of environmental and natural resources erodes the natural capital and therefore promoting wise use of environmental and natural resources through recycling, energy saving technologies, tree planting and conserving flora and faunal resources; helps to prolong the lifespan of these resources.
