National Old Folks of Liberia

Unverified non-profit organisation

The National Old Folks of Liberia is non-profit non-political non-governmental accredited by the Liberian Government and accredited by UN=ECOSOC.

The organization maintains a website that provides information to people about activities, groups, events and services – anything about health support to local older people’s group in Liberia and the world at large. They are committed to tackling the implications of an ageing population. There are also plans which aims to challenge and change attitudes towards older people to ensure they get a fair deal and are able to contribute meaningfully to the communities, thereby promoting a positive attitude towards ageing. This will require a fundamental change in attitudes, changing the dialogue from negative stereotypes of dependence and loss, to a positive appreciation of the skills, wealth of knowledge and experience owned by older people.
