Support needed for radio station focusing on health information in Cameroon

Radio Health International is a radio station that holds to a particular theme, which is health and science. Therefore, every work or strategy is primarily towards the promotion and development of health and/or sciences. The radio is also a community based stations a type of radio service, that offers a third model of radio broadcasting beyond commercial and public service.
Radio Health International acts as a vehicle for the community and voluntary sector, civil society, agencies, Non Governmental Organisation and citizens to work in partnership to further information, development in the health sector.
We have a website for international content and broadcast on air in the centre region of Cameroon strictly for the promotion of health and development messages. We are open to supporting those with objectives in development and health to relay their messages.
What is your project and how will it help?
From 2013, Radio Health International is involved with development projects such as:
1. Educating the public on eye diseases by organisaing prevention campaigns for community benefit
2. Informing the public on the importance of education in the promotion of good health by organising campaigns to explain and demonstrate these benefits
3. Reviewing the link between rape and pornography by organising school surveys and educational workshops to uncover the solutions to child rape
4. Above all linking Radio Health International with as many community media organs in order to serve as an informational relay with international doctors to help the masses
5. As well as mobilise different communities in Cameroon to promote good hygiene and consultation habits amongst themselves
How can other people partner with you on your project?
1. By providing goods to facilitate the production of information (e.g Computers, Microphones, Headphones, Generator, 1000-1500watts transmitter)
2. By volunteering either as community peer educators, doctors to explain health subjects in a simple and easy to understand way, or doctors for free medical screening, or as a journalist/presenter to produce programmes related to health and development
3. As an individual, organisation or association related to health/development by producing programmes for Radio Health International on different issues affecting your area. So many others can learn and benefit from it.
4. By providing financial assistance to support in buying production equipment and transportation for projects as well as office tools. The amounts range from 20.000fcfa – 5 million fcfa (US$ 40 – 10,000 US$)

- Radio production dashboard: 500.0000fcfa
- Radio vehicle to transport staff for reports & project journeys: 1.500.000fcfa
