Support budding talents in Uganda
Requested by
Prom Talent AfricaWho are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?
Prom Talent Africa is a Ugandan NGO that aims to assist talented young people to become stars in their field so that they will be able to compete at an international level. In this way, we as an organisation are attempting to address poverty among the young people of our community. We look for and train young people who appear to have the talent to go further. Many young Ugandans have talents in sport or the arts, but they do not know how far they can go, or how to develop their talents. Our organisation was created to help this group of young people.
What is your project and how will it help?
Our developmental project consists of discovering talents and skills in young people, and then providing training so that the young people will be able to reach international levels in their sport. We also provide training in other skills such as craft-making. Finished products can then be sold to help to provide an income for the people who have made them.
Young people with dancing skills or music skills will be introduced to organisations where they can perform and be paid.
We have devised four programmes that will help us to succeed: high ground; launch friends; discover your talent; and Turn around. We conduct interviews, open ended questions will be asked about the day to day operation of the project, topics covered in training, attractiveness of the operation of the project.
See attachment for further details on this project.
How can other people partner with you on your project?
We have different ways of partnership according to our constitution any one or organization whose work has a bearing on the organization whether local on international, any member or organization that wishes to partner wish us should apply in writing to the Advisory Board through the General Secretary, by completing the requisite application form and submitting it to the general secretary, along with supporting documents as may be required by Prom Talents Africa.
For the avoidance of doubt partnership shall be directly from organization not by transfer from existing members.
