Unverified non-profit organisation

Established in 2016, Alliance of Slum Media Organisations is an alliance of media organisations working with children, youth and their communities, providing opportunities to nurture talent in arts and media, create jobs, and communicate key messages critical to societal change.

The media organizations share a mission of telling stories through digital media and art – film, photography, music and dance, reflecting a balanced image of the slums and providing training, learning and employment opportunities for children and youth in the digital creative industries.

Currently, the consortium has six member organisations and is registered as a Community Based Organization. It is run by a Secretariat with 3 staff and governed by as Board of six Directors. It has its offices at KCDF House Pangani, Nairobi.

ASMO has a sizable youth constituency in Nairobi and beyond, and is primarily a youth led organization and so are its member organizations. It employs a partnership model that helps to grow audiences, generate synergy and leverage on collective resources
