Sunlabob Renewable Energy

(For-profit organisation)

Sunlabob Renewable Energy Ltd leases solar equipment at easily affordable rates so that villagers can experience the benefits of clean, safe and reliable solar electricity. Communications, educational attainment, health and productivity can all be enhanced by the introduction of solar power. Sunlabob provides solar and wind products to remote villages where the public electricity grid does not reach. While hire charges to the villages are minimal, Sunlabob is a commercially viable, self-sustaining business, so is not reliant on grant funding. In 2006, Sunlabob was nominated for the BBC/Shell World Challenge.
