Draft Two SFTMS (Sustainable Fair Trade Management System) Standard

SFTMS is the new worldwide standard for the independent certification of organisations which demonstrate Fair Trade business practices.

The requirements of this standard are applicable to any organisation applying Fair Trade principles in all its business processes regardless of the nature of its activities or the location in which they occur.

This new worldwide standard framework complements the existing Fair Trade product labelling approaches.
Sustainability in this context means addressing social, environmental and economic issues. The foundation and cornerstone of this Standard are the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) Fair Trade Principles which support strong, value-based business models.
