Help to Sustain and Develop the Professional Animal Control Emergency & Safety Service in India

Requested by

Jeeva Karunya Trust

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

Human and animal conflict has happened since the day life started on earth, but now it takes place when any species enters into human residential zones because of factors such as loss of habitat, real estate threats, encroachment, degraded water resources, no shelter, excessive heat and sound. But the meeting of human and wildlife simply results in casualties (loss of lives) either on the human or wildlife side, some times taking either lives or many lives or often resulting in fatal injury…

We have had around a 9 years formal experience of working in tis area, and now we would like to expand, sustain and develop our ongoing animal control service. , with a team of trained professional experts and tribal communities trained and involved with improved equipment and tools, and thus help to decrease the mortality rate resulting from human animal conflict.

What is your project and how will it help?

The Human Animal Conflict Resolution project directly helps rural communities, farmers and agricultural workers by providing emergency, wildlife and animal rescue and control services, to prevent human animal conflicts and loss of lives either to the animal or human.

This Project concentrates on rescue, relocation and rehabilitation of endangered, threatened, abandoned, species-

1.Local youths will be employed, trained and equipped in rescue of several species in the wild and in rural areas

2.Several offices in conflict occurring areas will be set up

3.Toll free numbers will be maintained and promoted to contact for emergency Assistance,

4.On receiving an emergency call nearby experts will be directed to the spot

5. Rescued species will be recorded, and relocated after rehabilitation and treatment if necessary

6. The service will be monitored, motivated & facilitated with improved information and technologies for speedy and prompt service

7. Safety of the rescue experts will be concentrated and due to the nature of job being very risky, the experts will be protected with safety measures and insurances to compensate for injury or death froms occupational hazard.

How can other people partner with you on your project?

We welcome interested individuals and organizations as partners and collaborators who can help us to sustain and develop an outreach service, to set up trained animal rescue experts around the country in rural and tribal areas or where Human Animal encounters occur often.

Please detail the resources that you need.
