Help to ensure peaceful elections in Ghana

Requested by

Redeem Africa Leadership Foundation (RALFo)

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

The Redeem African Leadership Foundation has been active in the Central Region of Ghana for the past five years, running leadership training workshops and providing democratic education for peaceful elections, and other projects.

Currently, we are organising a series of workshops on democratic education aimed at reducing electoral violence and tribal politics which are becoming more threatening to Ghanaian democracy.

What is your project and how will it help?

The Foundation is organising a series of workshops, public lectures and seminars in churches, town halls, public places and mosques to educate people about democratic rights and freedom, political tolerance, peaceful elections and violence in preparation for the 2012 general election.

We would like to broaden the project so that more people can participate thus helping to ensuring peaceful elections.

How can other people partner with you on your project?

We are looking for other organisations, donors and individuals who care about this project to help us with funds, goods, books and the establishment of corporate partnerships.

Please detail the resources that you need.

We have budgeted for:
Gomoa East constituency : US$ 2,000.00 for registration, monitoring, electoral education, workshop and public lectures and election day.

Gomoa West: US$ 1,500.00 for registration, monitoring, electoral education, workshop and public lectures and election day.

Agona West and East Constituencis: US$ 2,600.00 for electoral education, workshop and public lectures, radio talk show programme on FM stations in Agona Swedru and election day.

Total: US$ 6,100.00
