Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

The project is intended to benefit men, women and children, especially people with with special needs such as orphans, widows, unprivileged, poor, and disabled.

The group intends to be an institution in sustainable community growth and development by offering equal vocational training opportunities to the widows, orphans, disabled unprivileged and needy and to reduce poverty, improve the living standards and create self-reliance in self-employment opportunities to various individuals, families and the community. The group and community among other stakeholders are intending to offer vocational training opportunities to the community’s widows, orphans, needy, unprivileged and other members willing to acquire the training skills of:

a) Tailoring skills
b) Dress making skills
c) Knitting skills
d) Embroidery and interior design
e) Entrepreneurship education and skills

What is your project and how will it help?

The group has already acquired a rental premises containing (2) two rooms (2) two sewing machines and have agreed to offer (70%) of technical trainers volunteer teachers amongst group members and 30% will be subsistence by those group members community and others willing to be trained.

The project is intended to develop capacity, skills and talents by improving tailoring and dress making skills, knitting and embroidery design and entrepreneurship education and skills. This will assist the community, acquiring both human and economic resources, employment opportunities for self reliance, resource mobilization and utilization and economic improvement strategy of poverty reduction and eradication for vision 2030.

The project is to be undergone as soon as funds become available and it is estimated to take a period of (2 years) from starting a training course until graduation.

The project is estimated to cost Kshs. 455,770 Equivalent to US $ 500,000 for the start.

a) All persons of various needs shall pay 0.5% of fees charged with other various institutions.

b) Group members and other interested parties shall pay 90% fees to assist cater for other services as well supplement in the payment of trainers, rent and assist in government exam registrations to the needy cases.

c) The training course shall take a duration of (2) two years to those interested to sit for government approved exams, while to those not to sit exams shall be determined by their interest and needs either to improve their previous skills, or ascertain some technical skills needed in their profession.
