Anasi farmers Association was formed in the year 2010 as a community based women organization and registered at District level bearing number 310. It was formed by a group of Rural women who realized that they were economically marginalized and thought of how they should come of such poverty. The Association was formed to give knowledge to the poor rural women and to enable them fight illiteracy and start income generating project to earn a living. The membership has increased from 3 to 20 currently active members, managed by women for women.

When women contribute no resources to the family, men suppress them with domestic violence. The cause of poverty in the area is lack of good production skills combined with low value Agricultural production, depriving them from higher nutritional value foods stuffs like meat, milk or fish. Many people who live a long the boundaries of the preserved areas of the game parks and forest reserves use illegal hunting as their source of meat and income through hunting in the park.
