Free Donations of Multivitamins for Pregnant Women

General information

Overall description

Vitamin Angels will be tripling its donations of multi vitamins for pregnant women in 2018.

If you are an NGO registered in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean or the Middle East, and if you support pregnant women in communities of need, you are invited to apply for an annual vitamin grant.

Goods details

Goods description

Vitamin Angels is excited to announce our commitment to rapidly scale up our donations of multivitamins for pregnant women! In 2018, we plan to triple our overall distribution of prenatal multivitamins to both current and new partner organizations. In recent years, evidence has become clear that providing multivitamins to women starting early in pregnancy provides benefits for both women and their unborn/newborn infants, beyond the benefits of iron and folic acid supplementation alone. In order to achieve the greatest public health benefit, Vitamin Angels is targeting our multivitamins to underserved pregnant women and encouraging our partners to reach women as early in their pregnancy as possible. All locally registered organizations in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Middle East which support pregnant women in under-served communities are invited to apply for an annual vitamin grant. The grant does not include any money. Organizations which have their application accepted will receive free multivitamins for pregnant women, assistance in shipping vitamins to the country's main port of entry, and educational materials. For more information about becoming a Vitamin Angels Field Partner and to see if your organization qualifies to receive a gift-in-kind grant from Vitamin Angels, please visit www.vitaminangels.org/apply or send an e-mail to programs@vitaminangels.org. Vitamin Angels’ multivitamins for pregnant women are formulated to the standards set by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. The multivitamins contain 15 different vitamins and minerals that are needed to meet daily nutritional requirements.

    (Verified non-profit organisation)

OLUNG RONALD TAYLOR says: In Amolatar, it is estimated that worm infestations occurrence stands at 3 to 4 child for every 10 children. Most available literature states that every year estimated 3,000 new cases of worm infestations are reported in Amolatar with only 7.5% of these children able to access medical care for their condition and treatment due to stock outs of wormazole in the health facilities. These statistics are problematic as they are mostly hospitalized based and not fully indicative of the magnitudes of the problem with the majority of children under five years in Amolatar taking local medicines. The same case with pregnant women too as they are always inadequate multivitamin.
As partner working in the region we would like to partner with Vitamin Angels to address the problem in Amolatar

    Respectfully,

    Ronald
