Volunteer for African Foundation for People in Need, Uganda

Requested by

African Foundation for People In Need (AFFPIN)

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

We focus on poor rural community-building initiatives that involve people at the local level to ensure that local needs are met. Because much of poverty is generational in Uganda, children are at the heart of our mission. We want to empower them to be key change agents in their communities. To this end, we strive to get disadvantaged children living with poor grandmothers or families into schools. We improve the living conditions of the poor by making their access to water and sanitation possible.

What is your project and how will it help?

The volunteers we have are:

- teaching at the orphans school,
- building classrooms,
- painting classrooms,
- planting small coffee farms for poor rural families living with orphans,
- fundraising

Please see attachment to learn more about volunteering with us.
