Thames Water partnered with Age Concern to set up a Reading Silver Surfers Club

In partnership with Age Concern Berkshire, BT and the John Madejski Academy, Thames Water has helped set up a Reading Silver Surfers Club.

The aim of the club is to help older people understand how to use digital technology so that they can benefit from using computers, for example, by learning to use the internet. The sessions offer an opportunity for complete beginners to have individual tuition from a volunteer in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, teaching people at their own pace. Several employee volunteers from Thames Water attended at the launch event in February, and volunteers attend the club on a weekly basis.
