General information

Overall description

A donor company would like to donate 30 wheelchairs and 30 crutches to an organisation working in South East Asia, and has expressed particular interest in Cambodia, Bhutan, Myanmar and Lao. Organisations from other countries in the region may also apply.

The donor requires a photo of each individual recipient receiving their wheelchair/crutches, together with a list and signature of each recipient. If you feel you are not able to meet this requirement, please do not respond to the offer.

NGOs would need to ensure they would be able to import these items from southern China as humanitarian aid. There is no cost for the goods. There may be some assistance available from the donor for logistics arrangements.

Total CBM is 7.2CBM.

Timing

Expressions of interest are due by Wed 14 August, and production of the wheelchairs and crutches will be completed in mid-October.

Currently we are paying the school fee of people with disabilities for over 40 months, paying for a teacher for over 17 months and about 40 wheelchairs, walking frame and cluches had been given in the past. We are going to provide the pictures receiving the wheelchairs and cluches and pictures and signatures of beneficiaries/receipent.

Bill Hampson says: I would like to register an interest in the wheelchairs and crutches for our partners in Bangladesh. Epiphany Trust works with partners in a number of South east Asia countries but we believe that this aid will be most beneficial for our projects in Bangladesh. We are confident they can be imported as humanitarian aid and then transported to most needy people in Dhaka and in remoter villages around Rajshahi. Unfortunately I have been unable to speak with our partners yet as it is Eid holidays, but I wanted to record our interest ahead of the deadline.
