World Food Program (WFP) - Niger

Unverified non-profit organisation

Set-up in 1963, WFP is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger. WFP uses its food to: meet emergency needs and support economic and social development. It also provides the logistics support necessary to get food aid to the right people at the right time and in the right place. In Niger the WFP focuses on assisting malnourished children and food-insecure families through its long term rehabilitation programmes. However, programmes are sometimes expanded for emergency reasons, such as the recent construction of a telecom system.
