Red Cross Society of Colombia

Unverified non-profit organisation

The Red Cross Society of Colombia was established as an independent organisation in 1915, and joined the international Red Cross Movement in 1922. Because of the ongoing conflict in Colombia, the Society currently focuses primarily on disaster relief and the provision of humanitarian assistance to people displaced either by natural disasters or by conflict. The Society runs relief programmes in partnership with UN agencies, the national government and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies which has been present in Colombia since 1969.
