REACH

Unverified non-profit organisation

REACH Vietnam is a local Vietnamese non-government organisation specialising in vocational training and employment for Vietnam’s most disadvantaged youth. It was established in 2008, and currently runs vocational training courses in six centres across Vietnam supporting up to 1,100 disadvantaged Vietnamese annually. The social enterprises of EM Hair Salon, KOI Bento, Revina and TRE Restaurant support the work of the organisation as well as offering an opportunity for work experience for students.
REACH helps disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-30, who do not have access to formal vocational training programs because of barriers such as poverty, lack of education, and difficult family circumstances.
REACH students include street and migrant youth, school dropouts, unemployed secondary school graduates, disadvantaged youth from ethnic minorities, members of the LGBD community and youth who have just left the army. They also cater to marginalised groups such as trafficked survivors, victims of domestic violence, as well as those living with or affected by HIV and persons living with disabilities. REACH provides them with 10 distinctive courses : Graphic Design, 3D Modelling, Web coding, Food & Beverage, Cooking, Housekeeping, Sales & Marketing, Hairdressing & Nail, Spa Therapy & Makeup and 5 star hospitality training.

REACH training program is unique, because it :

 - Matches with industry needs;
 - Teaches students English and soft skills needed in the workplace;
 - Instills in students the need for good work habits and a positive attitude ;
 - Works with students to find jobs and supports them for 6 months after graduation to ensure job stability.

As a result, REACH always maintains a high proportion of trained youth placed in jobs and staying in the job of their preferred industry for at least 6 months after graduation, at 83%.
