The World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations specialised agency for health, was established in 1948. The organisation aims to coordinate international health activities and to help governments improve health services. WHO’s objective, as set out in its Constitution, is “the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health.”

WHO Yemen’s activities focus on improving technical coordination between Yemen’s government and public and private medical service providers, improvement of reproductive and child health programmes, supporting communicable disease prevention and control programmes, and strengthening health management systems in the country.
