The tragedy of the situation in Niger requires a humanitarian response on a global scale. Through Global Hand, you can play a part in that response.

You are welcome to place an offer of goods on the Global Hand site. Validated Global Hand members will be able to respond to your offer and use the goods in an appropriate and responsible manner.

Please indicate in the description of your offer that you would like the goods to go to Niger.

Goods
The following product has been utilised in the international relief response in Niger. You may wish to offer these or other items.
  • Food
    • Cereals, including maize, rice, wheat, millet and sorghum
    • Pulses, including peas, beans, and lentils
    • UNIMIX (enriched floor of corn-soja blend to recuperate malnourished children)
    • Vegetable oil
    • Milk powder
    • Supplementary nutrients for pregnant and lactating mothers
  • Water purification supplies
  • Animal fodder
  • Small farming equipment
  • Shelter materials
  • Medical supplies & medicines
  • Cooking utensils
  • Blankets
  • Transportation: M6 trucks and long haul trucks to transport food commodities, with off-road capabailities.

These needs, assessed by FEWS, may help you identify how your company could make a contribution.
  • Augmentation of supplemental feeding for children under five
  • Additional support for the Government of Niger's free food distributions
  • Provision of emergency animal fodder and livestock nutritional supplements
  • Assistance with sanitation and potable water (in areas with the highest malnutrition)
  • Seeds for second season cropping, especially short cycle beans
Logistics
It should be noted that Niger is a landlocked country, with relatively high logistics costs. Several agencies have requested financial support to cover logistics costs for supplies to reach beneficiaries.
