CORE COMPETENCIES
Mchinji National Registration Bureau is a new Malawian government department that has been established to implement National Registration and Identification System(NRIS) in the country. The district has 9 Traditional Authorities. The department is expected to produce identity cards, Birth and Death certificates meanwhile the department has distributed 581 Hardcopy Village Verification Registers(HVVRS) in what is known as phase I and would like to source funding/support to carry out an orientation/re-orientation to all these Village Heads and their assistants who have been accorded the job of putting data on these HVVRS. Experience has shown that record is very poor and intesive training ought to be done as these are a base entry point in the NRIS.

The department is working in the whole district of Mchinji which is 9,998 Acres in size and has a population of 456,558.

SIZE AND CAPACITY
The department has 4 experience officers, The District Registrar(Commissioner)holding a first Degree in Social Science, The Assistant District Registrar holding a first Degree in Humanities, A Logistical Officer holding a Diploma in Human Resource and a Data Preparation Clerk holding a Certicate in Computing. The department has an office with one computer, fax machine and a photocopier.
