UNDP focuses on two overall, inter-linked objectives; to support the Government in advancing economic and democratic reforms; and strengthening and fostering the participation of civil society in development processes at national and local levels. UNDP’s work is concentrating on three thematic areas namely economic governance and poverty reduction, environmental governance, and democratic governance. Special attention is paid to mainstreaming the use of information and communication technologies as well as gender, and to applying human-rights-based and participatory approaches throughout the program.
