World Food Program - Peru
WFP is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger. In Peru WFP works on: saving lives and protecting livelihoods of the poorest people during emergencies; preventing chronic undernutrition; disaster preparedness; and supporting communities to rebuild after conflicts and natural disaster. It works mainly in the Andean rural areas affected by high levels of extreme poverty and in partnership with women. Currently WFP assists approximately 230,000 people through various projects.
