The Global Fund for Women, an international network committed to a world of equality and social justice, it advocates for and defends women’s human rights by making grants to support women’s groups around the world. The Fund focuses particularly on increasing girls’ access to education, increasing women’s financial independence and stopping violence against women. Applicant groups must be run by women and must not be from the northern hemisphere or international organisations. The Fund seeks to work with organisations in the southern hemisphere. It gives about 400 grants per year from US$500-US$20,000 and receives over 3,000 applications.
