Le Déclick establishes a digital workshop for the mentally ill

Le Déclick, a Canadian NGO established to assist young people with a range of mental and physical problems with re-entering the workforce, has set up a digital workshop in partnership with a private company, Les Chantiers Numériques inc.

The collaborative workshop, which began in 2008, has allowed the scanning, indexing and launch of over 500 Quebecois films. Meanwhile, the workshop aims to teach young people with mental illnesses to digitise data. This should help them to develop a skill relevant to the media industry, thus preparing them for eventual employment. Through the project, ten participants were able to find employment immediately afterwards.
