Funding required to establish a training centre for young people in South Africa

Requested by

Valspan Youth Development Project.

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

The Valspan Youth Development Project helps young unemployed people with no skills. We address the high rate of youth unemployment that affects most of the people in this area and which causes poverty. There is a need for skills development that we will attempt to satisfy through the promotion of the need for education and through the training we intend to deliver in our new centre. Our service will also give our young people hope by acting as a recruitment agency. We will create a database to make sure they are employed when they leave us. We also help young people to make a living and help them to create opportunities to develop their personal growth.

What is your project and how will it help?

Youth Skills Development Centre will influence young people positively and have a huge impact on their moral values as we will offer training on moral education in addition to skills training. There will be a lower rate of unemployment in the community and young people will be independant and self sufficient.

For further details, see project proposal attached.
