Help to build and set up a modern educational centre for young people in Uganda
Requested by
Kingsland Initiative for Development UgandaWho are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?
Kingsland Initiative for Development Uganda is an NGO in Uganda focusing on improving the education system and developing income generating activities, such as agriculture, by equipping people in the community with skills which will help development in the way in which it already exists in other regions in Africa.
Because of a twenty year war, and the lack of money to send children to school, poverty has reached high levels in almost all communities. As a consequence, education was and continues to be the poorest it has ever been and has in turn deprived children of a better future. By building a school we hope to improve the education system, creating greater opportunities for children. We want this area’s school system to match that in the rest of the country.
That’s why Kingsland Initiative for Development seeks to continue to address such challenges with your help and support.
What is your project and how will it help?
The project will improve the future of disadvantaged children who have been denied access to quality education, and whose dreams of having a brighter future have been overshadowed because of the increase of poverty and the rising costs of living in the country.
The project will definitely help them to be more confident about the future by giving them the courage to fight against poverty. This in turn will help them to become the pioneers of change, and will also help their families and their communities by increasing education and economic activity in the area and in the country in general.
Therefore, the entire community will also benefit from the results through the achievement of a brighter future for their children who will help them in return.
The project, which will be located in Odokomit, focuses on three objectives:
- The construction of a modern learning centre in which the children will be trained
- Identifying needy children and giving them access to quality education
- Catering for the children’s needs to make them comfortable in their quest for a better future through education.
That’s why our project can be summed up in two goals:
- To provide quality education and concrete opportunities so children feel important and develop more quickly by 2020.
- To help speed up the recovery process from the war that lasted for two decades, and to alleviate poverty from surrounding communities in order to create the element of self-reliance by 2020.
But all this will only be possible with your help and support.
How can other people partner with you on your project?
Other people can partner us by sponsoring us, notably by giving us
- Funds
- External assistance for staff salaries
- Volunteering
- Furniture and material to build the centre
- Etc.
Considering the fact that the project will also benefit all the communities, we also want to convince more farmers, businessman/business entities, profesionnals in various fields, or teachers/ learning institutions to help us. So we need your support and help to show them our credibility and the strength of this project.
Please detail the resources that you need.
The project requires about 221,000,000 Ugandan shillings for its activities.
But thanks to our personal activities (farm and shop), we have been able to raise 40,600,000 Ugandan shillings.
Therefore, we request further support of 180,400,000 Ugandan shillings to succeed in our project (U$73,000).
