Reach Out CameroonWho are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?
Vulnerable and marginalized children and women are our target, mostly orphans and vulnerable children within the communities we operate, widows and single mother as well as HIV infected people.
Stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS still prevails within our communities, ignorance on the effects of HIV which fuel stigmatization as well as ignorance on the orphans and vulnerable children’s crisis within our communities.
What is your project and how will it help?
“Keep a woman and child alive” is a project of the Home Solace Programme. It was created for the children and women in the local community to provide education about HIV/AIDS thereby creating greater awareness on the pandemic at local level for communities to engage in the fight against HIV/AIDS. We help children to understand HIV/AIDS in all its forms through educative talks, sports creative writing/thinking, essay competitions while the women and other community members are mobilized and sensitized to engage in the fight against the pandemic while made to understand the poverty cycle of HIV/AIDS within communities. The actions are geared to strengthen community systems thus reducing stigmatization and discrimination against orphans and vulnerable children and people living with HIV.
How can other people partner with you on your project?
We will appreciate partners for financial support, educative materials and also for volunteering services in the project.
Please detail the resources that you need.
