Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

The AAS Foundation is a NGO in Pakistan. The Foundation implements an innovative integrated rural development model with programmes based on the belief that local people are best suited to shape and sustain their own development.

What is your project and how will it help?

The objectives of AAS Foundation are:

• Social Mobilization and awareness rising, a tool for community organization

• To provide microfinance services, including lending, savings, insurance and transformational training, to people in need for economic uplifting

• To provide better livelihood enhancement opportunities to the neglected and marginalized rural communities

• Awareness campaigns and networking to save environmental contamination

• Improve the human and technical capabilities of the poor through certain capacity building initiatives

• To contribute to strengthening the social and physical infrastructure

• Women empowerment through their increase access to better health and education facilities

• Initiate, establish and participate in collaborative advocacy and other activities with like-minded organizations in and outside the country

How can other people partner with you on your project?

There are about 3720 community members who are partners with us and participate in our programmes on a regular basis.

Other people can partner with us by providing funding for our projects.

Currently AAS Foundation is looking for additional funding for

• Islamic Microfinance Qarze-e Hasna (Interest Free Loan) = US$ 150,000/year

• Modern Agriculture & Livestock Development = US$ 75,000/year

• Sustainable Livelihood Development for widows and orphans through goat farming, poultry farming and kitchen gardening = US$ 250,000/year for 625 households
