Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was founded in 1943 by the Catholic Bishops of the United States to assist the poor and disadvantaged outside the country. CRS has worked with local partners in Bolivia since 1955 to seek solutions to development needs. CRS Bolivia is committed to citizen participation and advocacy to achieve sustainable development. Community services such as health, water and sanitation, agriculture and credit are seen as short-term solutions to meet basic needs. Long-term solutions reside in increasing community capacity to ensure sustainable change in structures, livelihoods and values.
