Levi Strauss works with NGOs to get involved in disaster response

The Levi Strauss Foundation provides relief grants, organizes employee volunteerism, and matches donations made by Levi Strauss & Co. employees to support communities that have fallen victim to natural disasters.

Some recent examples of the foundation’s disaster response efforts include: providing $100,000 in grant support to Oxfam, Partners in Health, and the Global Fund for Women to assist them in their relief efforts following the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti; organizing fundraising to aid recovery efforts following heavy rains in Indonesia and the failure of the Situ Gintung dam; and, providing a $50,000 grant to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in 2011 to help them in their efforts to assist the large number of internally displaced people in Pakistan’s northwestern districts following fighting between government forces and Taliban insurgents.
