World Vision is a Christian relief and development organisation established in 1950, dedicated to working with children, families and communities in the fight against poverty and for social justice. Through emergency relief, education, health care, economic development and through raising public awareness, they seek to promote the situation of the needy and provide for their basic necessities. The organisation has been working in Brazil since 1975, and today runs programmes in rural and urban areas through its four regional secretariats. Current programmes focus on health, education, economic development, promotion of justice and emergency relief.
